Important note:

Failure to finalize the cancellation of your UAE Student Residence Visa on time is considered a visa overstay (even after your visa expired). It will mean that you will not be able to apply for any other UAE visa in the future and will be subject to Immigration fines when canceling your visa/returning to the UAE. Your student visa is valid as long as you remain a student at Hult International Business School, Dubai campus.

Option A: Cancellation inside the UAE

This option is for students who are currently in the UAE and wish to apply for their UAE Student Residence Visa cancellation.

Fees: N/A; Express Visa Cancellation Service – optional

Step 1 Request your UAE Student Residence Visa Cancellation

When? You have the flexibility to decide on your UAE Student Residence Visa cancellation based on your commitments, including travel, internships, etc. therefore, it is important that you plan accordingly. Please ensure your visa is canceled before your graduation ceremony.

Pre-planning important information and suggestions:

The cancellation process takes up to ten working days, be sure to check the list of public holidays in the UAE when planning your cancellation request.
You must remain in the UAE until your visa cancellation process is finalized via email by the Hult Visa and Compliance Team. Use this time to tie up any loose ends, including closing your bank account, selling your car, canceling your tenancy agreement and utility bills, etc.
We suggest you submit the visa cancellation request 30 days before you plan to fly out of the UAE.
Your AETNA insurance student plan is canceled when your UAE Student Residence Visa is canceled, as mandated by the Dubai Health Authority and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.

Step 2 Wait for cancellation printout.

The Dubai Visa and Compliance team will submit your UAE Student Residence Visa cancellation request on your behalf to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.

Once your request has been reviewed and processed by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, you will receive an email from the Dubai Visa team with your Cancellation Printout attached. The Cancellation Printout, issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, will state your visa cancellation date and the duration of your Grace Period. The Grace Period is 30 days from the date your visa was canceled. The Grace Period provides you with the opportunity to change your visa status if you have obtained sponsorship for another UAE visa. If you are not changing visa status, you must leave the UAE before the Grace Period expires.

Step 3 Documentation to finalize visa cancellation

After your UAE Student Residence Visa Cancellation is confirmed, you must provide the Dubai Visa team with your departure flight confirmation if you are exiting the UAE or a copy of your new UAE visa status. The documentation is required to finalize your visa cancellation with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai. Send the documents via email to the Dubai Visa team.

Step 4 Confirmation of visa cancellation

You will receive an email from the Dubai Visa team to confirm that your UAE Student Residence Visa has been canceled.

Option B: Cancellation outside the UAE with sending the passport

This option is for students who are currently outside the UAE and do not wish to return to apply for their UAE Student Residence Visa cancellation.

Documents required: Passport.

Fees: Courier fees to send the passport to the campus are payable by the student. Courier fees to send the passport back to the student are payable by Hult. Express Visa Cancellation Service – optional.

Step 2 Courier passport

You need to send your passport to the Dubai campus via courier to Visas and Compliance, Hult International Business School, Dubai Internet City, PO. Box 502988, Dubai, UAE.

The Dubai Visa team will then send your passport to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai for your UAE Student Residence Visa cancellation.

Once your request has been reviewed and processed by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, the Dubai Visa team will email you regarding your preferred delivery address and courier your passport back.

Option C: Cancelation outside the UAE without sending the passport

This option is applicable for students who do not wish to return to the UAE or send their passport via courier. This also applies to students with an expired Student Residence Visa.

Fees: AED 1210

Restrictions: You will not be allowed to travel to the UAE after your UAE Student Residence Visa expiration date until your UAE Student Residence Visa has been canceled

Step 2 Fee payment

You need to make the payment for this visa service before your graduation ceremony. Any payments for visa cancellations can be made in the same way as program fee payments through Flywire. The Flywire portal can be found on Hult's Student Application website and can be found under "Pay Program Fee". Wire transfer may take 3-5 working days, depending on your payment method.

To speed up the process, email the Dubai Finance team with the proof of your transfer for verification. Dubai Visa team will only submit your visa cancellation request after verification of your payment.

The Dubai Visa team will cancel your UAE Student Residence Visa after its expiration date as mandated by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai. The cancellation process takes up to one month. The Express Service is not available for this option. Once your request has been reviewed and processed by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, the Dubai Visa team will send you your Cancellation Printout via email.
